Bank Holiday Saturday day trip to Brighton

I seem to have neglected my blog for the past 10 days due to my extremely busy lifestyle, both at home and socially. "Boo F*cking Hoo" I hear you say but I can't help it that I'm so popular *Mean Girls quote*. But seriously, I haven't had much time recently to sit down at my laptop and tell the world about what has happened in my life but don't worry.. I'm backkk.

During the recent Bank Holiday, my friend, boyfriend and I decided to go on a little day trip to Brighton. I absolutely love this beautiful city as it is picturesque, holds so many memories and reminds me of my own little home town in Devon, mainly due to the seaside and pier.

We left London bright and early to make the most of the day, getting a £6.50 day return from Clapham Junction. Luckily, the weather was nice to us as it was really warm with plenty of sunshine. I haven't actually been to Brighton when it rains, does this happen..? Obviously, the first thing we did when we got off the train was to head straight for the beach despite the Aussies hating the pebble beach.. Apparently it's not quite the Gold Coast. They wanted to dip their toes in the water but chickened out so we decided to head to the pier where it was warm and dry.

I seem to be attracted to these kind of places at the moment as I was playing arcade games, eating fish and chips and chilling by the seaside in Cardiff last Bank Holiday weekend. However, to mix things up a little bit from last time, Luke forced me to go on one of the thrill rides at the end of the pier called The Booster. I have always seen it and said no but I was pushed onto this 40ft metal pole whilst being suspended over the sea. I nearly had a heart attack. Luckily, I decided to eat my churros and Nutella after the ride, otherwise I wouldn't have been a happy ending.

Once our food had gone down, we made our way to see the Royal Pavilion or as the Aussies called it, The Taj Mahal. It is a beautiful building in the city centre with a beautiful garden to sit in and eat a little picnic or have a few bevvies. If we weren't so full from eating our fish, chips and curry sauce from the world famous Harry Ramsdens, we would have definitely done this. After this we ventured through the city, visiting lots of cute boutiques, souvenir shops and of course, Choccywoccydoodah where Katie knocked off lots of chocolate from the side so we made a swift exit.

To end our lovely day, we went to the Irish pub to celebrate the referendum on legalising gay marriage in Ireland. I was wearing green too so blended in perfectly into my surroundings.

I can't wait to go back to Brighton again for pride in August where I will probably be eating more fish and chips with curry sauce. Possibly consuming a few drinks too...

Alcoholic.
