Sitges Gay Pride 2015

This post has been a longgg time coming. I should have written it weeks ago, way before my London Pride 2015 blog post, but I have been so busy at work as I received a promotion and I have finally moved house to Clapham *wooo*. Now I am more settled, I thought it was about time to write a follow up post about my holiday in Sitges

So, around four or five weeks ago now, me and all of the boys went to Sitges Gay Pride for the second year running. As you can tell we absolutely love it there. We flew out on the Tuesday bright and early and landed around 11am. The weather felt like we were still in London as it wasn't very warm and it was raining. Not what we paid for. However, we weren't disheartened and still spent the day by the pool, shaking, pretending it was warm.

Later on in the day, the sun finally decided to make an appearance and we ventured to the town centre for some food. The first night I had a really nice rump steak and a couple of cold beers - it was amazing. After, we slowly strolled back to the hotel, taking selfies and group photos of our not so sunkissed, day 1, holiday tans.

Our first night out was incredible. All of the photos were quite blurred though so unfortunately I don't have any to share so you'll just have to believe me. We all woke up with horrible hangovers but got ready and ventured to the gay beach for some sea, sun, tanning and beer. My favourite things. This was generally our day time routine, so I won't bore you with repetition in this post. For dinner we went to an Italian on the seafront but the service was shocking. They didn't give me my food with everyone else but when it finally came out, it was the wrong order. I tried to complain but there was a language barrier and she made me pay anyway. Rude haha. Anyway, again we got ready, did pres and then went out. However, this night I went skinny dipping. I have never felt so liberated and wanted to do it every night for the rest of the week but then we got told off by a lifeguard so we gave up trying.

The next morning I woke up with a pounding head and you know the rest. Fancied something a bit more healthy for dinner tonight I ordered a taco salad. All my friends were envious. It was amazing so I had to take a standard dinner shot. Surprisingly though, my only one of the holiday.

Our third night out was a little bit different as it was the start of the tribute acts. Every night during pride at Sitges, different tribute acts perform. The first night was the Black Eyed Peas, second Beyonce (who was literally incredible and I was so drunk I thought I was at her concert), third Queen, fourth ABBA and fifth Spice Girls. The only one we didn't actually see was Queen but we weren't too fussed and decided to hit the bars that night instead.

Again, woke up feeling like I had been hit in the head with a shovel so I had a rest day with Joel and Luke, ordering room service and watching weird episodes of the Simpsons. It was actually nice to stay in as I was beginning to feel run down. However in the evening I manned up, went for a three course meal (which was divine) and got drunk again. By this point all of the days were rolling into one drunken mess and I feel like I am repeating myself and listing the same daily activities. Oops, sorry, I said I wouldn't do that...

By this time we were basically at the end of our holiday with a day and a half left. If our holiday wasn't already gay enough by now, Dave, Cameron and I decided to take it to the extremes. We decided to hire a pink pedalo, which we named 'Pamela, Queen of the Sea' just before the parade in the afternoon. Whilst we were slowly peddling our way through the Mediterranean Sea, the Spice Girls started warming up on the stage which made us tip off the end of the gay scale. It was amazing.

After our hour was up, we went to see the parade. There was literally every float that you could think of, men wearing very skimpy outfits and hundreds of drag queens. If you know me well enough, you will know that I adore drag queens and I fell in love with one dressed up as Wonder Woman. She seriously could have passed as a girl.

After this we went for some food, freshened up and started drinking for our last night. Most of the performances start around 11.30pm but the Spice Girls were early so we literally ran from our hotel for 15 minutes to the main stage, taking all of our alcohol with us. We just made it but we were all sweating like mad. They weren't amazing to start with but definitely got better with more alcohol. I said to myself I wasn't going to get that drunk on my last night as I hate flying, let alone flying with a hangover. However, I didn't listen to myself and got absolutely wasted. Standard me.

I thought that this would be the last year that I would go to Sitges Gay Pride but I always have so much fun with the boys that I might be tempted to go again in 2016.

Anyone else gayme?
